The Olive Grove

Our young company was founded with a clear mission, based on two fundamental and founding principles for us: environmental protection and human well-being.

Hence the choice to be an ethical and eco-sustainable company, contributing in our own small way to improving the quality of life of farmers, consumers and society as a whole, striving to be socially honest, transparent, fair and morally upright.

Environmental sustainability or eco-sustainability is an essential prerogative to ensure the stability of the agroecosystem, that is, the ability to maintain over time the functionality of the biological processes occurring in the olive grove, preventing the depletion of natural resources, reducing environmental pollution as much as possible and thus being able to ensure the healthiness of the product.

EmbracEmbrace was born in a 5 ha olive grove with 1,000 Nocellara del Belice trees between 60-70 years old. This renowned and prized cultivar is perfectly adapted to the typical environmental conditions of Sicily, the olive trees have medium vigor, bearing and medium-expanded foliage. The drupes during the veraison stage darken and take on a coloring that approaches violet, but the factor that makes this cultivar so special is an oil with a fragrant, fresh fruitiness.

Environmental sustainability in the olive grove means safeguarding the soil and its fertility to ensure over time that the olive trees have adequate nutrients to meet their needs. We prevent soil compaction and soil erosion or soil degradation, So we don’t do deep tillage, we don’t use herbicides, also we limit it with grassing and proper irrigation system. In addition, soil fertility is preserved by appropriate fertilization with organic materials administered with well-defined doses and timing

Olive farming generates several positive impacts on the natural environment and the land in which it is located. In fact, the olive plant is able to sequester CO2 from the atmosphere by storing carbon in the soil in amounts that bring the supply chain closer to zeroing its overall emissions.

It is a crop with low water requirements, capable of adapting within very diverse ecosystems and enjoying a multifunctional nature that is a valuable social, cultural and tourism asset for geographic areas devoted to olive growing.

Environmental sustainability means, above all, protecting the biodiversity of the agroecosystem, reducing the use of pesticides to fight the main adversities of the olive tree, while at the same time controlling the healthiness of the product. A control and defense system involving agronomic, physical, mechanical, and biological interventions, meteorological monitoring systems together with a specific knowledge of the biological cycles of the various pests lead us to intervene only when necessary and to simultaneously evaluate joint control methods

Environmental sustainability in the olive grove is to use water rationally with the application of high-efficiency irrigation systems, such as micro-irrigation or sub-irrigation; and with an irrigation plan that takes advantage of weather and soil moisture data detection systems and controlled water use that helps to maintain a moderate level of moisture in the drupes.

We are the first country in the world with an olive-growing heritage of as many as 631 different cultivars, linked to its territory, a biodiversity that must be protected and safeguarded, Oil is not only the basis of the Mediterranean diet, among the healthiest in the world, and we in our own small way, we want to promote a premium extra virgin oil that ensures a high quality, nutraceutical and sustainable product, accompanying the customer towards a more conscious consumption. Through nutrition education on the nutritional and hedonistic value of evo oil

Environmental sustainability in olive groves is finally to protect the landscape, whether through the restoration of dry stone walls, infrastructures that guard a strong local identity and represent a historical memory and preserve natural fauna, or through the protection of ponds and wild flora in olive groves and the surrounding area.

From an economic point of view, we have chosen to be sustainable, because it gives rise to fair trade and production dynamics such that operators are protected and guaranteed an income commensurate with their work. We believe that solidarity or social agriculture is a tool for individuals to regain their role in society, and their dignity, from a professional and economic, and above all human, point of view

“Sustainable Development is that development which enables the present generation to meet its own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs

Indeed, it is the citizens who can contribute to sustainability through their lifestyle, small actions and daily consumption and resource management behaviors. It is necessary to raise citizens’ awareness of their role as key players in the implementation of a “sustainable consumption” model, directing their choices toward environmentally friendly goods and products

Focusing the conduct of today’s activities on the basis of sustainable development turns out to be a determining factor for those generations in the future who will have to reap the fruits of our labor

The territory

Sicily, an island that holds 3,000 years of history and art, the cradle of various Mediterranean civilizations, rich in stories and mythologies, breathtaking landscapes and unspoiled nature. A great cultural diversity that does not separate peoples but unites them, because each people has left a mark that coexists with the mark of another people, in a synthesis that as Goethe says “is the key to everything.”

Embrace olive grove rises right here in the western part of Sicily in Menfi in the province of Trapani, between Selinunte and Marsala.
Embrace oil is about all of this: a timeless island, where a journey becomes a journey of the heart where you are swept up in an embrace you can no longer live without.
